We’re looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to join our Clean Air Aguascalientes (Parque FINSA) team!

Qualifications

  • Education: Industrial engineering and/or related.
  • Experience: 3-5 years in a similar position in the automotive industry.
  • Advanced English.
  • Basic knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading.
  • Problem solving skills, demonstrating basic knowledge and practice as a problem-solving leader (3L5W, Ishikawa, 8Ds, A3)
  • Knowledge of using Microsoft Office tools

Preferred

  • Experience in process and system audits.
  • Knowledge of welding and metalworking processes.
  • VDA 6.3 auditor certification
  • ASQ CQE
  • Internal auditor in automotive quality management systems (IATF 16949)
  • AIAG Core Tools
  • CSR knowledge (if applicable).

Functions:

  • Ensure compliance with specific customer requirements for products, processes, and the Quality system.
  • Verify compliance with customer quality standards and norms for all products.
  • Review and monitor customer satisfaction indicators to establish corrective actions in case of deviations.
  • Ensure timely issuance of information for PPAPs with customers.
  • In the event of a failure, generate, issue, and track MRRs until they are closed in the system.
  • Review and track supplier and customer PPAPs until approved, validating the corresponding tests and adjustment runs.
  • Support the multidisciplinary team in developing the 8D and/or A3 methodology for internal or external quality issues.
  • Develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and assessing the quality and reliability of data.
  • Help identify the root causes of the problem, establish corrective actions, and verify their effectiveness.
  • Interacts with customers and supplier representatives on quality issues.
  • Directs employees involved in measuring and testing products and tabulating data related to quality and reliability of materials, products, or processes.
  • Compiles and writes training materials and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.
  • Directly participates in the release of gauges and leak tests during releases.
  • Leads the development and implementation of the Control Plan in its various phases.
  • Defines control methods and sampling plans and modifies them as required.
  • Performs product and process audits
  • Ensures measurement and testing according to instructions
  • Leads the effective implementation of Read Across
  • Maintains metrics for the COPQ and promotes improvement actions
  • Manages and coordinates 8Ds for official and unofficial complaints from internal and external customers, ensuring timely compliance according to established procedures
  • Certifies operators in Quality
  • Conducts process capability studies to jointly establish corrective actions with the operations department as needed.
  • Raise awareness among staff about the impact on the end customer of non-compliance with critical characteristics and/or non-conforming products.
  • Trains staff on the quality characteristics of new products, the process, and the documentation required for their work.
  • Validates the skills of quality personnel by evaluating their performance through the training process (training sheet and exams).
  • Adheres to Tenneco policies, procedures, and guidelines.
